Neice!

Keith & I have a new neice:

Kyle & Karen's new edition, Jordan Mackenzie Host, was born on June 4, 2007 at 7:52 pm. She's 7 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long. Mom and baby are doing great & the family is home together.

Dogs!

Now that we've settled into the new house a bit more, we've brought somenew family members home -Zoe & Kaylee (formerly Hershey & Choco). 3 yr old brittany siblings from down south.

They came to us through New England Brittany Rescue.

Here are the pics from their first day with us. http://picasaweb.google.com/pixiestyx/ZoeKaylee?authkey=QntGpwsMQu0

They are really sweet girls & seem pretty smart. A bit skittish what withall the changes, but have turned out to be cuddlebugs who love belly rubs.

BTW - we should be uploading house pics soon too for those of you just now learning about the house since I'm a bad blog updater :) We closed on Feb.28th & moved in the next day.

Just updating

There's been a lot going on that I've been wanting to post about - but I have been holding off because I'm a putz & still have not put wedding photos up :) Anyway, it's looking like that's going to take me awhile, so I'm going to just get on with the posting.

Keith & I have started having date nights. We commute in together & then he picks me up after work for dinner & a movie. So far we've seen Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (loved it) and Sky High (cute).

We also saw March of the Penguins. I liked it - but I love that sort of nature documentary stuff anyway. Keith's family came with us for that one because it was a Saturday afternoon outing - they didn't really seem to care for it.

This past weekend we went camping up in the White Mountains region of New Hampshire. Climbed through the Polar Caves & hiked around the Basin area. We need to do more camping. I always forget how much I enjoy it. It would help if we could afford a camper though. We didn't used to mind tenting it, but then last year we rented an Aliner and were spoiled. I probably still wouldn't mind tenting, except that I have not been on a camping trip yet with Keith where it has not rained - when I mentioned that to him, he said he had never been on a camping trip where it had not rained! So the camper has gone on the purchase waiting list.

Hitched

Keith & I got married - yea! I will be working on getting pictures up soon.

We had a lovely day for it (June 24th). Thursday night I stayed at my Aunt & Uncle's in Dennis, MA. On Friday morning, Keith & our families came down. We set out at about 1pm on 2 boats, my Uncle's & a second boat that we chartered for the afternoon. The ceremony (which my Uncle performed) took place at the fairway buoy just outside Sesuit Harbor on Cape Cod Bay. It was short & sweet & then we went fishing.

I caught the first & last fish of the day - 1 blue & 1 striper. Keith caught the largest fish of the day at about 32". His brother Kyle also caught a blue & a striper, and my mom caught a snail!

Once we had our fill of fishing, we went back to the marina for a small reception at it's cafe where my Aunt & Uncle surprised us with a beautiful sea shell themed cake.

Keith & I stayed the night at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis, then headed home on Saturday to help celebrate his grandmother's birthday.

On Sunday we had reception #1 - family & family friends. That was a lot of fun, and really more exhausting than Friday had been, so I'm glad we broke it out that way. Then on July 2nd we had reception #2/ 4th of July party with our friends, which was a ball.

Since then we've been recovering :)

So much to do, so little time

I have a long list of stuff I want to get done today - but I probably won't get to any of it because it's all personal stuff and I have to be here at work instead.

My job rocks, but I seriously wish that work were structured more like college. I could totally use a break between 1 & 3 to get personal things done, then have work time again later tonight. Hopefully as laptop's get smaller & faster this will be more feasible.

We've had a lot going on, but nothing very exciting.

A couple of weeks ago we tore the shrubs out that were in front of the house. They were completely out of control (out of control to the point that after pulling them out, as we got in the car to go to dinner with K's parents, ALL of us noticed for the first time that the front door is off center with the house & windows - and this is a house his grandparents built & the 3 of them should be duely familiar with.) Anyway, we picked out some nice new ones, but it's been so rainy out that we haven't been able to plant them. I can't wait for that. I've discovered that I actually enjoy yardwork when I get to participate in the landscape planning.

Last week we were petsitting a rabbit for our neice & nephew. He was adorable. I think we'll wind up getting one someday ourselves. We had talked about getting one before we knew K's brother was buying this one for the kids, but for cost of care, they can be more expensive than a dog, and you have to bunny-proof things a bit. So someday....but not today. I'll try to post pictures later.

Puppies

This week we are dog-sitting Dixie for friends. It's been fun. I love dogs, but we can't have any permanently until we have our own place. If we could I would totally adopt this little one who needs some help. She looks exactly like my dog Sox who lives with my parents. I try to donate annually to the MSPCA anyway, but I had to donate a little extra for her.
